Course Description: Course is intended to explain how people attempt to avoid probate in estate planning, covering both the successful ways of doing so, the unsuccessful ways, and common errors. The purpose of the Course is to familiarize real estate agents with various ways people attempt to avoid probate, how such transfers can affect their closings, help the real estate agent interpret commitment exceptions related to these problems, determine when they need an attorney involved, and errors to avoid. The course addresses the use of deeds, death bed and undue influence issues, joint tenancies, survivorship agreements, Lady Bird Deeds, transfer on death deeds, Trusts, and use of Affidavits of Heirship. The course briefly discusses non-real estate property in order to demonstrate how similar issues arise. It finishes up with discussing the risk of probate after using a non-probate process, the right to probate and bring suit. This course is intended to separate these non-probate issues from previous courses taught by the provider regarding deceased owners, which were difficult to fit within a 1-hour format, in order to both provide a deeper understanding and fit within the commonly used 1-hour format.

Cost: $10.00 per realtor for CE credit or free without credit.

What's the refund policy?

An attendee may cancel their registration up to 2 business days (48 hours) before the scheduled class and will be refunded in full. No shows will not be refunded. Funds are not transferable. No vouchers or exchanges are permitted.

What's the Provider's Cancellation policy?

The provider will notify each registered attendee of said cancellation. Acceptable forms of notification include: email, text, or call. Any classes for 3 or fewer registered Realtors maybe subject to cancelation. In situations of inclement weather the provider will notify each registered attendee of cancelation. If the provider cancels a course all funds will be refunded within 30 days of the date of cancellation.
